So I decided to explore and, dare I say, cheat a little, on the 30 Watercolors in 30 Days. I used a General Pencil Sketch and Wash Pencil. I know that those are usually used for shading but I have always loved the juxtaposed lines against soft wash. It makes pieces look as if they have been plucked out of my old fashion magazines. I swear, people must have been using these for fashion forever.
Their main purpose is for softening shading. It creates lights and soft highlight transitions. You can easily control the value, by simply sketch less, or control the amount of water washing your lines. Fun little project you should try during the holidays!
