I’m no makeup artist but my latest purchase was one of those really pretty toothbrush style contouring brushes. I love them so much, and they make the application of makeup so much easier. They also help me apply my contouring palette and softly buff out my face to HD perfection.
As I continue to draw more models, it occurred to me that they spend a significant amount of time contouring and applying makeup. Why wasn’t I drawing it in?

In addition, to keep my drawings simple, I added only the detail that would show up on a black and white picture. In the video tutorial above, I show you how to do a simple contouring on a fashion illustration. The only makeup I added on the model was lipstick and eye makeup.
